Ghansoli is one of the nodes of Navi Mumbai , and is about 20 minutes by bus from Vashi . It has a newly built locality and also a big industrial area housing companies like Reliance, Siemens, Standard Alkali.
There is a Mookambika temple which is one of the oldest landmarks in Ghansoli. The railway link from Thane to Vashi / Panvel has greatly increased accessibility to Ghansoli. ASP English Convent High School, Tilak International School and Rajiv Gandhi Management College are also working in Ghansoli.
Among the other religious places of worship is a big mosque close to the railway station and a Roman Catholic church in Ghansoli village called Our Lady of the Forsaken Church. There is also a very big ashram for Sikh community very close to sector-1.
Real Estate
Presently the Ghansoli city is divided into two parts Ghansoli village and the developed Ghansoli sectors. While developed Ghansoli sectors hosts many modern buildings, the older village still retains a rural look. Every Year 'Ghansoli Mohatsav' is held by late Dagdu Chahu Patil Trust. This program has a significance of all cast people of Ghansoli coming together.
History
Not much is known about the history of Ghansoli (A small fishermen's village that it was..), however the village was a part of the salt satyagraha movement. During the satyagraha movement as many of the national leaders like Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Kasturba Gandhi, Sarojini Naidu assembled in Ghansoli village.

Trains: Local trains are available from Thane to Vashi / Panvel via Ghansoli every 10 minutes during peak hours and about every 20 mins during off peak hours. It takes 15 minutes from Thane or Vashi .
Bus: BEST buses are available from Ghansoli to Vashi , Chembur , Sion , Dadar , Worli , Mulund , Bhandup , Powai , Dindoshi & Borivali . NMMT buses are available from Ghansoli to Vashi , Thane , Bhayandar , Uran, Mulund & Borivali . BEST AC Kinglong and NMMT AC Volvo buses are available from Ghansoli to Vashi, Dindoshi & Borivali.
Auto and Taxi: Autos are available at Airoli toll bridge for Mumbai. Taxis both AC & non AC are available near railway station.
